Ivory mango, also referred to as Vietnamese or Thai mango, is a tropical fruit named for its exceptionally large size and elongated shape which resembles the tusk of a young elephant. These mangoes are highly coveted due to their limited season and exceptionally good eating qualities: smooth, tender flesh with a high sugar content and paper-thin seed. Ivory mangoes are the pinnacle of the mango experience with a heady tropical fragrance balanced by an incredible sweetness that is made more noticeable by the lack of acidity. The silky flesh is noticeably low in fibers and offers a succulent bite that practically oozes fresh juice. These highly prized mangoes are a top class of fruit with a majority of them being exported to Japan.

 

These mangoes are ready to eat despite their green appearance. They can be left to ripen at room temperature for a softer texture if desired. Each mango weighs about 2-3 lbs.
