Chinese Broccoli (Gai Lan) - 1 Lbs (芥兰)

Gai lan, also known as Chinese broccoli, is a leafy vegetable in Brassica oleracea which includes broccoli, cabbage, kale, and brussels sprouts. Gai lan is flavorful and fragrant with a taste that is reminiscent of broccoli rabe with noticeably less bitterness. Broccolini is a hybrid of gai lan and broccoli. Yu choy is commonly associated with gai lan due to their similar appearance.

 

Uses: Blanch gai lan until tender and top with oyster sauce and sesame oil. Stir-fry with garlic, a generous amount of oil, and your favorite sauces or seasonings.
